“ Dear Michael, We had our performance today and I think I should write you about it. Everybody enjoyed the play and we all had a good time. The students were very enthusiastic; we spoke to them later on the day and they think the play was fantastic; they consider it was easy to follow - many of them understood practically everything and it was funny. Everybody laughed a lot. In fact, a lot of them were excited about it and kept talking about certain scenes. The actors were brilliant: they spoke very clearly; their movements and faces were also very expressive and suggestive. They were able to captivate the students. In short, I would like to congratulate you, ETC and the actors, of course, for the wonderful job you all did. It being the first time in our area, some of our students were a bit suspicious - not only because it was theatre (boooring!) but mainly because it was English theatre (yuk!). “ It's been two days since ETC have performed at our school and I took the time to ask all of my students and other teachers feedback on your performance. The response was absolutely unanimous: they've all had a blast! The plays were so fast-paced and with such an interactive approach that everybody felt inside a roller coaster of pure, unadultered fun! Some of the lower level students were concerned that they might not understand the contents of the plays at first, but within 5 minutes those fears had long been overcome! The multiplicity of characters that only three actors bring to stage is absolutely unbelievable! And the capacity they have to unfold into different scenes is simply mesmerizing. Speaking of which a word of praise for Cat, Tom and Stephen. They were all so utterly professional and besides that, they were so down to Earth when some of the students wanted to exchange a few words with them at the end of the performances. On behalf of all the students and other teachers who were fortunate enough to watch the performances I would like to express my gratitude for you have certainly helped demonstrate that teaching English does not have to be restricted to the inside of a classroom.
