Live English theatre
brought to your school

Original plays for every age and level, performed live at your school by professional, native-speaking actors.
Touring Europe since 1987.

We come to you

No theatre required. We perform in your school hall, gymnasium, auditorium or cultural centre — our plays are designed to work in any space.

Built for both audiences

We know we have two audiences at every performance: the students who want to enjoy themselves, and the teachers who need it to be educationally worthwhile. We write and perform for both — every time.

Adapted to every audience

Our professional native-speaking actors are trained to modify their performance live — adjusting pace, pitch and vocabulary in real time to suit the specific audience in front of them.

This Season’s Plays

All three plays are performed live for your school, each written for a specific age group; running time 50–60 minutes.

The Curious Adventures of Jack Todd

Ages 6–12 · Primary

A comic adventure inspired by classic stories from English literature. Shipwrecks, peculiar pirates and a very hands-on audience. One of our most popular shows for younger learners.

Too Good to Miss

Ages 12–16 · Secondary

Three friends, exam pressure, a film competition, a mystery letter and a consequent complication.
A contemporary story with plenty of audience participation.

A Bit of a Hitch

Ages 16+ · High School & Adults

A fast-moving comedy inspired by Hitchcock — mystery, suspense, romance and a touch of film noir. Sharp, witty and rich in natural, nuanced English. No knowledge of Hitchcock required.

What teachers say
Trusted by schools across Europe

  • "Astonishing performance...absolutely brilliant and professional...The kids practically begged for another performance next year!"

    — Marco Sausa (Portugal)

  • “Fun for the students and a genuine native English-speaking experience that motivates them to improve their language skills.”

—Senta Böhrer | Lise-Meitner Gymnasium (Germany)

  • “ETC shows are fun, fast-paced and somehow always include time travel. The shows are a fun way for our students to experience that they can already understand quite a lot of English.”

—Wieteke Laarakker | College Den Hulster, The Netherlands

  • "Wonderful performance. The students really appreciate it and are still talking about it in glowing terms."

    — Roger Baeckens (Belgium)

  • "ETC has performed at our school for 8 years and it has always been a success. Students identified themselves with the situations created in \"What If\". The same has happened with \"William B\" and \"Backchat\". Very up-to-date teen themes and the actors are always excellent communicators."

    — Paula Couto (Portugal)

  • "I just wanted to let you know that all of us, teachers and pupils, enjoyed last Friday’s performances so much! It was a real success, and we will definitely contact you again in the future. It’s not an easy thing to do to entertain 15- to 20-year-olds, especially on a Friday afternoon, but this didn’t seem to be a problem for your three fabulous actors ;-). Everyone – not only the pupils who are good at English, but also those who don’t pick up languages quite so easily – was really enthusiastic and understood the gist of what was happening on stage. To sum up: I’m so glad I booked last year :-))."

    — Lore Molly (Belgium)

  • “Participancy, fun, understandable English, feeling the need to learn it to understand others.”

    — Vera Vanden Haeseveldeer | GO! Middenschool Halle (Belgium)
