This is Sherlock Holmes’ first case. The one that never got written down. Probably the one he would most like to forget, it’s also his funniest.
Sherlock is 27, new to London, has just set up his office in Baker Street where he has announced himself as the world’s first “consulting detective” and is waiting for the work to come in.
The problem is it isn’t coming in. So he goes looking for it, finding along the way, Dr Watson, a deerstalker, three pipes and a quite ridiculous coat.
The Very First Case is our affectionate, cheeky yet respectful, look at the world’s most famous “consulting detective” full of everything you would expect in a Sherlock Holmes story put together in an involving, humorous and original way.
The Very First Case is a fast moving comic farce and is a complete rewrite of a play we have already successfully toured with. Rewritten to be a more engaging, more interactive piece of comic theatre in our recognisable house style where, even if you knew absolutely nothing about Sherlock Holmes, we are sure you will still enjoy the show.
Our plays are written and rehearsed to be adaptable; so they can be performed in any venue.
Including a full pack of activities and exercises focussing on comprehension, language, themes and skills work.
Our professional native speaking actors are trained by us to adapt and modify their performance according to the audience’s reactions.
